Trimble Yuma Ruggedized UMPC

Trimble has just announced its new Yuma rugged UMPC that meets Mil-Std-810F, IP68 standard (which means it is totally waterproof and dustproof) and is manufactured according to RoHS procedures, making it ideal for applications performed in critical environments such as military, aerospace and marine. Measures 9.0 x 5.5 x 2-inches and weighs 2.6 pounds, the Yuma case is made of high-quality aluminum alloy, plated with a hard-anodized finish. As an ultra-mobile PC, it is loads an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, 32GB SSD, dual integrated cameras, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth 2.0, GPS, an ExpressCard slot and a SDIO card slot, and a 7-inch sunlight readable touchscreen display, two USB 2.0 ports, and a docking port, enables communicate via optional third-party cellular modems or a satellite phone. It doesn’t have an integrated keyboard as well as keypad but it is use touch or the stylus instead. No idea on pricing, but we have an idea that the Trimble Yuma should available on April 2009.
